Richmond Area Location to Represent State’s Military Bases With Corporate Relocation, Office, Logistics, and Storage Services
CHICAGO (May 8, 2013) – Nelson Westerberg, Inc., a global household goods moving and storage company founded in 1904 in Chicago, announced today expansion of national corporate relocation services in metro Richmond, Virginia with the launch of Nelson Westerberg of Virginia in Petersburg.
The new, full-service corporate relocation agency serves the eastern seaboard of the U.S. and expands the company’s domestic footprint to six agencies from coast to coast with more than $87 million in annual revenue.
The location was selected to service Virginia’s military bases as well as provide corporate relocation, household-goods storage and logistics to regional customers. Nelson Westerberg is an independent agent within the Atlas Van Lines network.
Nelson Westerberg of Virginia leased 82,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space with 700 storage vaults for household goods and 6,000 sq. ft. of office space. The agency’s new Vice President and General Manager Matthew Smith was hired in March to hand pick his team of 10 full-time employees to work in office, dispatch and warehouse. Currently, Smith is recruiting professional van operators to join his team in Virginia.
